OK, so I still haven't started this Love Dare thing

It has been almost a month and still no decision has been made (on my part) as to start the Love Dare 'project' on my own.
There was a very interesting development right after I commented.
My husband came home one night and before he had even changed his work clothes, I asked if he had a girlfriend.  Did that stun him?  Oh yeah.  He wanted to know why I would ask such a question so I gave him the reasons.
His response was a response I never expected.  He said he was so overwhelmed that I ever agreed to work on our marriage, that he was was content with that.  In his mind, if we were never intimate again, he would be content just knowing we were a family again.
So, do I need to do Love Dare?  Of course I do.  Everyone's marriage can stand a booster shot and get it back on track from the daily hum drum routine of work, kids, housework, yardwork, and on and on with all the trivial things we do.
Why can't our relationships be like they were when love was new?  I think God thinks it can or He wouldn't give people creative minds to come up with movies, books, etc., that want to help families.
God is all for families and anything we can do to keep our families together, it sure would make Him very happy.  Satan wants to divide and conquer, and what better way to do it than by getting into the middle of your family.
Well, Satan, put up your dukes, 'cause we aren't going to fall for your lying, cheating ways anymore.
Our weapons will be the whole  armor of God.

Hi!   Please allow me to introduce myself, tell you a little about me and where we believe His influence is going and how God can use it.  So let’s start at the beginning….

Have you all heard about Love Dare?

I watched the movie,  Fireproof, with my husband, my daughter, and her boyfriend.
Because I'm such an emotional basket case, the expected result was tears, and much thought into wanting a marriage that could survive anything, and wishing that my husband cared as much about our marriage as Kurt Cameron did in the movie.

Now, I have always been an incurable romantic, so I thought, somehow, magically, my husband would see this movie and be moved to say, 'hey, let's do the Love Dare'.  Did he?  Nope.  So there goes all my romantic ideas for a fairy tale ending right out the window.

Well, now I am contemplating doing Love Dare on my own.  Why, because I think our marriage could be better and perhaps, in the words of my son, I might get to know myself better and realize it isn't my husband's problem, but mine.

God has already restored my marriage once, as I said yesterday, but I guess it wasn't to my specifications!!  (My thoughts are not your thoughts, My ways are higher than your ways)  Have I already learned I am selfish.  Much to my chagrin, my son pointed that out to me very bluntly.

When I say contemplating, it means just that.  I think, in reality, I am afraid of what the dare is going to ask me to do for my spouse, and frankly, that kind of scares me into thinking I might have to do something out of my comfort zone.  That's why I haven't started yet.  I do know Day 1 will be fairly easy, because I try never to say anything that may hurt someone.  I still can hear my mother's voice saying, 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all'.

150 Psalms and 31 Proverbs

Did you know there are 150 Psalms and 31 Proberbs 46 Minutes ago
Significance of that statement....
There are 3 Psalm verses for each day of the month and 1 verse for Proberbs every day.
Do we all have time to read 4 verses from the Bible each day? I think so. Do we always do it, probably not, but what an easy way to start getting God's inspired Word into your heart each day.
There was a time that I did exactly that. Why did I get away from it. Probably because He answered my prayer and I didn't think I needed to talk with Him every day at that point. Is that wrong to get what you want and then neglect the One who gave you exactly what you asked for?
How many times do we see that with our own children? They can be so loving and convincing about wanting something, and are willing to spend the time with you to show you how much they care, and once they get what they want, they forget you were the one that provided their needs, just as we forget it was God who provided our needs. (see any similarities yet)
Don't we all do that with our Heavenly Father? He is no different than any of us that are parents. He wants to give us all we ask, and more. So, where did we learn that? Well look at where our inspiration come from!! Surprised? We shouldn't be.
What, as parents, do we want in return for providing for our children? Same thing our Father does. Love and time. We want our children to love us and spend quality time with us, just as God wants us to spend time with Him and love Him.
In my Bible, Daily Study for Women, the theme for Psalms states:
'God has a personal concern for his people and wants us to come to Him just as we are. We need not solve our problems before we go to Him; He has the solutions. Wherever we are, however we feel, and whatever we have done, if we offer ourself to God, He will help us and give us the strength to continue on. Because God is compassionate and all-powerful, He can help us when we turn to Him for deliverance."
If we spend time with Him each day, don't you think that would give us what we need to face the challenges life throws at us, and don't you think He would be absolutely thrilled that we were spending time with Him without wanting something?
